According to my doctor's records, at 24 weeks I am nearly 10 pounds lighter than I was at 24 weeks in my last pregnancy. In fact, when I was 18 weeks pregnant with Kaeta, I was already the size I am now. I still fully expect to look and feel like a bloated cow by the time this baby is full term, but at least for now I know it could be worse!
If you're interested, go here for a rough comparison between 17 and 22 weeks.
Kaeta is really growing up. This weekend she started sleeping in her "big girl bed." It's been tough for her, especially at nap times, but she's slept through the night in it every night so far. She's really excited about it, even if the change is a little scary! Click here for photos.
And last night for the first time, we all helped make dinner! Kaeta was restless and underfoot, so we put her to work -- check it out!
Nearly every night after bath time, Kaeta wants to say goodnight to her little German doll. But first she wants to name all of the doll's parts, including the flower on her dress, her hairbows, and of course her eyebrows. Karianne provides the translations.
Her new baby doll was her reward for going pee-pee in the potty three times in the first day of having her new potty. And she takes great care of her little baby, including feeding her lots of boo-rahs and juice.
Our 20 week sonogram showed that the baby is growing and developing normally. It's hard to believe that we are halfway through the pregnancy already. Seeing the baby on the monitor, and feeling the little kicks getting stronger and stronger certainly does make it feel more real! Here are some pictures of our little cutie-in-utero: Love those little baby feet!
Bible Explorer is totally free Bible software that's stuffed with features and has a growing library of electronic books (currently around 150 free, plus over 1400 additional books for sale. Click here for a list of the free books). I highly recommend giving it a try! I work for WORDsearch, the company that makes it.
Instaverse is a free progam that makes Scripture references pop up when you mouse over them in a web browser. This is nice if you read online commentaries, devotionals, etc. that refer to verses without quoting them. If you have the Bible memorized, please disregard.
(If you don't know about RSS feeds, I recommend spending 5 minutes at bloglines.com. I'm hooked on it -- it's a great way to check multiple sites for updates in one fell swoop, and you can keep up with news, your friends' blogs, and anything else with an RSS feed very easily.)
If I put our names here, maybe googling for them will someday lead people to this page, so here they are: Derek Kurth, Karianne Kurth (formerly Karianne Leikam, aka Kari Leikam), and Kaeta Kurth.
