What We're Thankful For
|
Ten Days Old Here's a little poem I made up at lunch yesterday, when Jonah was sleeping a LOT! We can already see that he's growing.I've a strict sleep schedule, Which I keep with grim adherence, So my eyeballs only make the very briefest of appearance; And my mother thinks I'm listless, Yes, she says I might be dying, But I'm growing when I'm sleeping, Or at least, that's what I'm trying. The Results Are In! For those of you playing at home, you can click here for the results from the baby pool -- Congratulations to Gottfried, the big winner! Gottfried, your check is in the mail. That link doesn't show what the guesses were, but you can review them by clicking here.Certain very competitive friends have commented that since Karianne's labor was induced, and since it was on the date that I had chosen in the baby pool, there might have been some foul play going on. All I can say to that is, "all is fair in love and baby pools." If I could have put a thumb on the scale when they weighed Jonah in order to win, I would have (but those darn nurses are awfully observant). Thanks for sharing in our excitement! I guess we'll have to keep having babies until I win one of these. That's Right. Still No Baby. Yes, I'm still pregnant. No, the baby has not come yet. Yes, any day now. Yes, I am ready. Yes, I am HUGE. Yes, I am about to pop. But, I am not itching! And I still have my ankles! And I can still wear my wedding ring. I am thankful that this pregnancy has gone so well. And we are excited to meet the new baby. We thank you all for all of you kind words, thoughts, and prayers. We hope to have news for you soon!
Ever since she was a baby, when we take Kaeta's clothes off (for bathtime, usually), we say, "You're a naked baby!" She thinks this is funny and gets a big grin.
So today, Karianne was giving me a haircut on the back porch, and Kaeta and Marty were playing in the yard. Before I went inside to take a shower, I took off my shirt, since it was covered in hair clippings. Kaeta looked up at me and said, "Daddy's naked baby!" We laughed really hard, so she keeps saying it at random times to make us laugh. She's got great comedic timing for a 2 year old! Our Little Pumpkin Just because Baby's not born yet, doesn't mean Baby can't dress up for Halloween! See the rest of our Halloween pics and lots of other new galleries here. |

If I put our names here, maybe googling for them will someday lead people to this page, so here they are: Derek Kurth, Karianne Kurth (formerly Karianne Leikam, aka Kari Leikam), and Kaeta Kurth.
